Preparing the logo
Use a PNG with a transparent background. A JPEG will paste a solid rectangle over your footage no matter what the opacity is set to. If your logo is white, it will disappear on bright scenes. A version with a soft dark outline survives more backgrounds.
Watermark width is in pixels of the output, not a percentage. On a 1920 wide video, 200 px is a discreet mark and 400 px is assertive. On a 720 wide video, 200 px is already large.
Opacity
Around 70 to 85% reads as a deliberate mark. Below 40% it becomes a smudge that survives neither re-encoding nor screenshots, which defeats the point.
Common questions
Can I put text instead of an image?
Yes, use add text to video, which draws text directly with no image needed.
Does the audio get re-encoded?
No. The audio stream is copied through untouched; only the picture is re-encoded.
Can I move the watermark around during the video?
Not in this tool. The position is fixed for the whole clip.
